We're pleased to be joined by two of the most influential legislative advocates for clubs on the State and National levels.

Lewis entered politics in 1969 and began serving in the Texas House of Representatives in 1971. Elected speaker for the first time in 1983, Lewis became the first to hold that office for five terms. Lewis currently works as a lobbyist and legislative consultant for TARO. Speaker Lewis will report on the most recent 86th Legislative Session and the state outlook for the Texas club industry.
Brad Steele,
Private Club Consultants
Brad Steele has been an integral part of the private club industry for nearly 15 years. He is the founder of Private Club Consultants, a Washington, DC-based firm providing in-depth legal and operational answers for club leaders on matters ranging from legislative and regulatory issues to protecting their club’s private and tax-exempt status.

With the presidential primaries almost here, we’ll also take a peek at the 2020 elections to see what they could mean for the private club industry.
